ReplyDeleteWTF are these parents talking about? Teaching students about other worlds religions has been apart of the Social Studies curriculum for at least 40 years that I know of. My kids went to public schools and teaching about world religions was part of their studies.
ReplyDeleteNotice I said teaching about religions not practicing the religion. What is so evil about students learning about other religions? My kids also learned about Buddhism, Judaism, Hinduism and Christianity. By the way my kids told me that most of their classmates had no idea about a question the teacher ask. Why is Christianity called Christianity?
These parents need to get a grip. What are they so afraid of ? Do they think that once they learn the 5 pillars of Islam the kids are going to convert?

about China geography, what they currently believed in. I learned
about Buddha and we were tasked to learn three words of Chines. I
learned about Indians God Krishna and the population that believed in
such a god.
I learned about Christianity in High school and yes the 10 commandments and it Did not offend me a bit.
