Cannabis-infused ice cream may be on its way after the founders of Ben & Jerry’s responded positively to the suggestion in a HuffPost Liveinterview.

Ben Cohen replied: “Makes sense to me,” when asked about the possibility, though it has been widely stated that there’s the caveat that marijuana would probably need to be legalised in every state in which the company operates in order to make it worthwhile. That could leave eager potential customers waiting some time.

Co-founder Jerry Greenfield pointed out that the decision would need to be carefully considered. “Ben and I have had previous experiences with substances, and I think legalizing marijuana is a wonderful thing,” he said. “If it were my decision, I’d be doing it, but fortunately we have wiser heads at the company that figure those things out.”
Another thing to figure out would be the catchy Ben & Jerry’s style name.CBS San Francisco have already come up with 17 suggestions, the pick of the bunch are ‘Chocolate Chunk Skunk’ and ‘Peanut Bud Er Swirl’. Or, existing flavors ‘Half Baked’ and ‘Dave Matthews Band Magic Brownies’ could always be re-used.

There have been rumors lately, spreading quickly on social media, that Kentucky Fried Chicken was planning to start selling cannabis in their Colorado stores, where the drug is legal, but the Independent is today claiming that there’s probably no substance to the claims, although KFC are yet to comment.
