Thereasa and David, the owners of Camp Wandawega in Elkhorn, Wisconsin became attached to the big elm tree standing in the centre of their property and were sad to learn that the tree had Dutch elm disease, which was causing the branches to die.

Along with their friends and family, they transformed the tree into a three-storey cottage. Here are some of the pictures of the treehouse construction and the finished product.
