Almost Sixty percent of Palestinian children who were arrested by Israeli occupation armies, were verbally, physically or psychologically tortured, the Palestinian Prisoners’ Club (PPC)reported.
According to the PPC’s statement, Israelis interrogators beat and threaten imprisoned Palestinian children in order to force them to confess. These children, majority of them are charged with throwing stones, are even prevented from sleeping.

It was also revealed in the statement that the Palestinian children were prevented from eating and drinking for long periods and were insulted. Three out of four experience physical violence during arrest, transfer or hours of interrogations.

Three Palestinian children’s accounts, who are currently inside Israeli prisons, were also included in the PPC’s report.
Israel is the only country in the world that sues children in military courts that lack fundamental fair trial guarantees. Since 2000, at least 8,000 Palestinian children have been arrested and prosecuted in an Israeli military detention system known for its systematic ill-treatment and torture of Palestinian children.

In 2013, 199 Palestinian children, on average, were being held in Israel’s military detention every month, the highest average since 2010.
Mustafa Al-Badan, 17, Faisal Al-Shaer, 16, and Ahmed Al-Shalaldeh, 15, told the PPC that they were tortured when they were investigated.
Fourteen Palestinian boys and girls under the age of 18 were shot dead by Israeli forces in the West Bank and Gaza Strip during 2017.
