In the Chongquing province of China, a team of expert cavers and photographers have been exploring a vast cave system called the Er Wang Dong, which was previously been used by nitrate miners but never fully investigated. They were shocked to discover that the cave had its own interior weather system, with spaces so big that clouds and fog were able to form. One cavern in particular measures 51,000 square metres and is aptly named “Cloud Ladder Hall”.
